The Washington (5-1) football team seeks their third straight win today when they hit the road to face off with West Burlington Notre Dame (2-4).

The Demons are coming off of a 63-0 pounding of Keokuk last week, where the offense did everything they wanted en route to over 500 yards of total offense. The Demons will be going up against a much-improved Falcon defense. Despite the team’s season struggles the Falcon defense has kept them in every game only giving up an average of 19 points per contest. Luke Turner and company will look to see that average soar and build off of an eye popping six touchdown passes and one running score from last week. The Demons continue to lead the district in rushing with 1,475 yards on the ground led by Jack Redlinger with 445.

Unlike what the Demons have seen much of the year, West Burlington Notre Dame is a run-heavy team that does not have much success through the air. Uncommon in today’s game, the Falcons run the triple-option and are right behind the Demons for second in rushing in the district with 1,307 yards. Tanner Snodgrass leads that group with 417 yards and three touchdowns. Through the air Drake Day has only completed 22 of his 58 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown.

The battle on the gridiron gets started at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Burlington. Tune into 106.1 FM and kciiradio.com starting at 7 to listen to the broadcast.
