In a battle for area bragging rights the Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team took care of business defeating Columbus Community in four sets.

It was their first meeting of the year and the Wolves won with set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 25-13, and 25-15. The Wildcats had a hard time stopping Lexee Hartsock and Jenna Buffington as they each had 18 kills apiece. Lauren Jamison racked up 29 assists in the win. Leading the team in serving was Pearl Krieger-Coble going 18 of 19 and Sabrina Moody was 12 of 13 with a pair of aces. Defensively Kyndal Townsley did the bulk of the work racking up 20 digs. The Wolves blocked the Wildcats eight times led by Hartsock with three.

With the win WMU finishes the regular season 12-18 as Columbus drops to 5-25. The Wolves start up regional play Tuesday hosting Keota as the Wildcats travel to Danville.
