The Bethel Mennonite Church is bringing back a Wayland holiday tradition this evening.

The church is hosting horse-drawn wagon rides around Wayland, and will serve homemade donuts, hot cocoa and coffee at the Wayland Community Center tonight. Organizer Ranee Reschly recalls the horse-drawn wagon rides and soup supper that was held in Wayland years ago, “We thought, you know what, it would be kind of fun to have those horse-drawn rides again for an evening just to invite the community and things. I know my kids, when we did it, they really enjoyed it. And it was just a nice time to go for a ride around and so that’s what we’re kind of doing.”

Reschly hopes to see Wayland homes decorated for this event, and says this is a time for the community to get together and focus on the holiday season. This event is free and open to the public, and the rides will be at the Wayland Community Center from 6-8 p.m. tonight.
