Remember to turn back your clocks an hour Sunday morning and to change the batteries in your smoke alarms.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday. The Iowa Department of Public Health is reminding Iowans to also check carbon monoxide detectors at this time. According to the IDPH, carbon monoxide poisoning causes an average of 35 deaths and 300 emergency department visits each year in Iowa. It’s recommend that a carbon monoxide detector be placed near every sleeping area and that batteries be changed every six months.
