The Washington wrestling team picked up right where they left off last year, steamrolling their competition at a quadrangular meet at Benton Community High School on Tuesday.

In their first dual against HLV the Demons came out on top 69-9 on the strength of eight forfeits by the Warriors. The Demons also dominated over Iowa Valley 66-12, and the host Bobcats 56-15.

There was plenty of success to go around as all 14 Demons won at least one match on the day. Garret Ikerd headlined the action for Washington winning all three of his matches at 138 lbs including a 7-1 decision and two by fall. Brandon Dickel at 126 lbs won both of his matches by a fall and a 5-3 decision. Other Demons that finished the night with a pair of wins in contested matches include Dillan Sanders at 132 lbs, David Hora at 152 lbs, Dylan Farmer at 160 lbs, and Tristin Westphal-Edwards at 170 lbs.

Washington will look to continue their success today when they travel to Mediapolis.
