There have been 295 traffic fatalities in Iowa so far this year and with increased travel for the holidays Iowans are reminded to be safe.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nationwide in 2015 the there were 301 passenger vehicle occupants killed in traffic crashes during the Thanksgiving weekend, and only half of those were buckled. During that time in 2015 and 2016 Iowa had five fatalities. Iowans are reminded to fasten their seat belts every time they’re on the roads.
