The Frontier Family Restaurant in downtown Washington will be getting a facelift, thanks in part to a grant.

The restaurant received a $75,000 Main Street Iowa Challenge Grant Wednesday. The funds are matched by $86,365, for a total project of $161,365. The building’s facade will be redone in brick, and the restrooms and vestibule will be rehabilitated. Work is expected to begin in the spring. Washington was one of 14 communities in Iowa to receive a grant.
