Four Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country runners were on the course one final time for their careers at the 2017 All-Star Meet in Ankeny Saturday.
Mid-Prairie’s Anna Hostetler was the girls race champion with a time of 18:16, in a field that included runners from class 1A-4A. Hostetler’s championship helped the east team defeat the west 17-44.
Three Mid-Prairie boys were on the course for the east team. The Golden Hawk finishers were led by Floyd Evans who took third in the field of class 1A-4A runners with a time of 16:15. Mid-Prairie’s Peyton Miller was fifth overall with a time of 16:28. The Golden Hawk’s Zach Pettit was ninth in 16:31. The west boys edged the east boys 27-30 for the team championship.
In the open 5K event, Mid-Prairie sophomore Marie Hostetler had a big day, winning her age division and the overall female championship with a time of 18:15. That time put her 12th overall in the entire field.
