Brennan Horak has had a memorable senior season on the cross country course and it isn’t done yet. He was nominated to compete in the 2017 Iowa Senior All-Star Cross Country Race today at Des Moines Area Community College.

The event features the best senior runners in all of the state and they are eligible if they ran a race in 17:50 or better this year. Coaches must nominate runners and then a board of directors for the Iowa Association of Track Coaches will approve selections. Horak is one of 29 boys from the East side of the state that will be participating. He is fresh off of his appearance at the state meet last week where he placed 95th in class 3A with a time of 17:45. Horak was the first Demon boys’ runner to qualify for the state meet since 1999.
