It was another big year for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country program and head coach Mark Hostetler was recognized this week by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

Hostetler was named class 2A Girls Coach of the Year for Iowa. His team claimed the girls class 2A team championship, led by his daughters Marie and Anna Hostetler who finished as individual state champion and runner-up in Fort Dodge. This was the first state title in the history of the girls program and follows a third place finish in 2016.

Hostetler was also named an At-Large Coach of the Year in the class 2A boys ranks. Coming off of the program’s first ever team championship in 2016, the Golden Hawk boys finished as the 2A team runners-up in Fort Dodge in 2017.
