The Highland boys basketball team rolled to a season opening win Tuesday in Columbus Junction, beating the Wildcats 64-34.

Highland got out to a quick start, leading 15-8 after one quarter, then took command with a 16-2 run that lasted the entire second quarter, giving the Huskies a 31-10 lead going to the half. Zack Lasek had a monster game for the Huskies finishing with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Mason McFarland also got to double figures with 14 points. With the win Highland stands at 1-0 on the year as they get ready to host Winfield-Mt. Union Friday.
