The Iowa Mennonite School volleyball team had a big season defensively.

IMS led the Southeast Iowa Superconference in 2017 with 16.97 digs per set, more than one full dig ahead of everyone else in the conference. That number is also 15th best in Iowa in class 1A. Suzanna Yoder and Raine Hathaway led the IMS defensive effort with Yoder posting 346 digs, fourth most in the Superconference, while Hathaway finished with 295, sixth most. Yoder led the Superconference with more than four and a half digs per set while Hathaway was third with 3.88. IMS ended the season at 15-14.
