Nearly all of Iowa’s soybeans and almost one half of corn has been harvested.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s weekly report, as of Sunday 83% of soybeans for the state have been harvested, six days behind average. And 44% of the state’s corn has been harvested, while the five-year average is 70%. In southeast Iowa, 64% of corn has been harvested for grain and 67% of soybeans are out of the field. Currently corn is rated at 14% excellent, 52% good, 24% fair, and 10% poor to very poor.
