The Iowa Girls Coaches Association recently released the 2017 Academic All State Volleyball participants and Washington’s Megan Mitchell was recognized.

To receive the honor a participant must be a senior that has recorded a 27 or higher on the A.C.T. and a grade point average of 3.75 or higher. When asked what it felt like to receive this award Mitchell noted, “It was a honor to be recognized for this because academics are important to me and my hard work is paying off.” The senior setter put together a solid year on the court as well collecting the fourth most assists in the Southeast Conference with 241. She also led the team serving with an 88% successful rate.

The senior plans to continue her academic career at the University of Iowa next fall for pharmacy.
