If you have old Christmas cards at home, the Washington Public Library has a way to give them new life.

The library is collecting Christmas cards for their annual Christmas Gone Green craft. Librarian Jenisa Harris says cards with figures, people, animals and scenes will help. She explains this year’s craft, “We’re going to learn how to transform an old book into a beautiful scenic Christmas tree. So you’re going to not take the cover off the book and actually use the back of the cover, you’re going to fold your tree so it comes off the middle and on the back you’ll use different old Christmas cards to decorate the back. And you’ll need something to adorn the top of your tree, it can be a bow or ornaments, whatever you like.”

Christmas Gone Green is for all ages and will be at the Washington Public Library at 10 a.m. December 2nd.
