Mid-Prairie junior receiver and running back Justin Schwartz has already written his name in the Golden Hawk football record books with a full year left in his career.

Schwartz is seventh in Mid-Prairie history with 51 career receptions. The all-time record belongs to Golden Hawk Darian Patterson with 71. His 38 catches in 2017 were fourth most in a single season in Mid-Prairie history, tying him with Lonnie Yoder from 1985. His nine catches this year against Anamosa were the third most in a single game in Mid-Prairie history, tying him with Lee Gardner in 1997, Brent Showalter in 1998 and Zach Schwartz in 2013. His 603 career receiving yards place him just outside the top 12 all-time. Mid-Prairie ended 2017 with a 3-6 overall record.
