The season may be over for the Lone Tree football team but the awards keep coming in.

Senior standout Brock Smith was recently named to the Iowa Newspaper Association All-State 8-man first team as a linebacker. Smith was no stranger to contact, as he had the second most tackles in district 4 with 87, including 13 for a loss. The linebacker added the fourth most sacks in the state with 10. In his three-year career, Smith tallied 189 tackles.

He also did some damage on the other side of the ball, hauling in 32 receptions for 608 yards and seven scores. He added 238 offensive yards on the ground for three touchdowns.

Smith helped the Lions to an 8-3 overall record and a trip to the postseason.
