The state of Iowa’s unemployment rate dropped slightly from 3.2% in September to 3.0% in October.

During that time Washington County’s rate went from 2.6% unemployment to 2.1% with 300 people unemployed. Henry, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, and Louisa counties all saw declines in unemployment rates. The highest rate of unemployment in Iowa in October was 4.6% in Wapello County.
