The Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team had a strong finish to the 2017 season en route to a 14-19 record.

The Wolves won seven of their last nine contests to finish the season fourth in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference north division. The Wolves had a good mix of senior leadership and up and coming freshmen. Freshman Jenna Buffington led the team with 231 kills, she tied for fourth in the division and had the most by any freshman in class 1A. Senior Lexee Hartsock made for a solid one-two punch with 222 kills. Senior Lauren Jamison finished third in the division for assists with 434. Kyndal Townsley was another freshman impact player with 344 digs, fifth in the division. Hartsock was a force at the net with 57 blocks on the year,  sixth in the league.

The Wolves lost in the regional semifinal round of the playoffs falling to HLV. The Wolves lose Jamison, Hartsock, Pearl Kreiger-Coble, Maci Richardson, Dakota Haines, Molly Jennings, and Lilly Van Amerongen to graduation.
