Senior years are supposed to be special and Autum Barthelman’s final campaign on the basketball court for Sigourney is turning into just that.

Not only has the four-year starter eclipsed the 1,000-point mark earlier this month, but she also finds herself at the top of multiple categories in the South Iowa Cedar League at the halfway point of the season. Through nine games, Barthelman’s 19.2 points per game average is the most in the conference and ranks in the top 10 for class 2A. She is shooting 47% from the floor and has been a key distributor for the team with 22 assists. The senior has the ability to get it done on both ends, as she also leads the conference with 38 steals. Barthelman has helped the Savages to an 8-1 start and is tied for the conference lead.

The senior gets back on the court Friday when the Savages host BGM.
