The Sigourney-Keota wrestling teams closed out the first half of the season Friday traveling to Eddyville-Blakesburg for a dual tournament.

The Cobras had five duals and came out victorious in one of them. They lost to Atlantic 55-21, Des Moines East 69-12, Interstate 35 35-21, and Waukee 49-30, but beat Mediapolis 48-27.

Kaleb Reeves had an efficient day winning all five of his matches by fall at 220 lbs and one match at 285 lbs. He wasted no time, as the average pin came in 1:10 into each match. Mason Dye also had a big day winning all four of his matches by fall at 106 and 113 lbs. Luke House was the other Cobra with multiple wins on the day at 132 lbs with a fall and 10-4 decision. Other victorious Cobras in contested matches include Nick Ives at 138 lbs by fall, Zach Boender at 152 lbs by fall, Jess Fritz at 160 lbs by fall, and Mac Conrad at 195 lbs by a 5-1 decision.

The Cobras will get back on the mat January 6th traveling to Ottumwa.
