Budgets for the upcoming year were discussed at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting.

With four members present, the board unanimously approved a directive for department heads. Supervisor Chairman Richard Young explained it’s the same as last year, with no budget increase and employee costs held separately. If a department needs an increase for something, they will then meet with the supervisors and justify the need. The compensation board will meet Thursday and set the recommendation for increases for elected officials. The supervisors will consider an increase for employee costs, including wages and benefits, after the compensation board’s directive for elected officials is set.
