The Washington wrestling team was on the mat for the final time in 2017 on Tuesday when they traveled to Wapello for a triangular and they came out victorious in both duals.

The Demons defeated Alburnett 64-15. Washington had six pins in the dual with five of them coming in the first period. Winning in contested matches included Brennan Murphy at 113 lbs by fall, Walker Ikerd at 120 lbs by fall, Kiowa Keith at 152 lbs by a 12-2 major decision, Dylan Farmer at 160 lbs by fall, Collin Murphy at 182 lbs by fall, Logan Escher at 195 lbs by fall, and Tristan Allender at 285 lbs by fall.

The Demons also beat Wapello by a final tally of 49-21 on the strength of seven forfeits. Coming out victorious in contested matches were Dillan Sanders at 132 lbs by a 5-3 decision and Garrett Ikerd at 138 lbs by a 10-0 major decision.

Washington caps off the first half of the season with a 17-2 dual record. They will resume competition January 4th hosting a triangular.
