Drought conditions in Iowa have increased by more than 10% from last week to this week.

As of Thursday, 6.7% of Iowa is in moderate drought and nearly 39% is abnormally dry. All of Washington and Keokuk Counties are abnormally dry. Most of Louisa, Johnson, Iowa, and Jefferson Counties are abnormally dry with some areas of moderate drought. Henry County is the driest with most of the county in moderate drought. At this time last year only 14.7% of Iowa was abnormally dry and there were no areas of moderate drought.
