The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams are in action tonight when they travel to West Branch to take on the Bears in a River Valley Conference doubleheader.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 6-1 overall, winners of four straight following a Saturday 53-26 win at Durant. Addie Rath led the way for the Hawks with 21 points. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Rath at 17 points per game, second in the RVC. Her 56 rebounds are also best on the team. Anna Vilovchik leads the Hawks with 21 assists.

West Branch comes into tonight with an overall record of 5-5. They were in action last night beating Camanche on the road 48-42. On the season the Bears are led by Tatum Koenig at 24 points per game, best in the state in class 2A. Her 53 assists are also best in the state. Kaiya Luneckas leads West Branch on the glass with 54 boards. The Golden Hawks swept the Bears a season ago.

In the boys contest, Mid-Prairie comes in at 2-5 on the year after a Saturday loss at Durant 78-54. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Cale Robertson at 11 points per game. Brad Tornow has the team lead with 13 assists. Kyle Miller has pulled in a team best 32 boards.

West Branch comes into tonight with an overall record of 3-5 following a 79-71 loss Monday at Camanche. Beau Cornwell scored 38 for the Bears in the loss. On the season the Bears are led by Cornwell and his state best 24 points per game. Cornwell also has the team lead and is fourth in the conference with 58 boards. Ben Thompson has the team lead with 21 assists, seventh in the RVC.

The Bears swept this series a season ago. Action begins tonight at 6p.m. at West Branch High School.
