The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams are back on the floor tonight when they host the Rebels of Northeast Goose Lake in a River Valley Conference doubleheader.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 1-0 on the young season after a 58-52 win over Tipton on Tuesday. Phelan Hostetler led Mid-Prairie with 11 points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots. Shae Becker added 10 for the Hawks. Northeast is 0-2 on the year with losses to Cascade 64-21 and Monticello 61-43 so far on the season. Last season the Rebels bested the Golden Hawks 49-39 in Goose Lake.

On the boys side, Mid-Prairie is 0-1 on the season after falling to Tipton 81-62. Ryan Slabaugh led the Golden Hawks with 18 points including four three point goals. Dominick Pickard added 11. Northeast is 1-0 on the year after a tight 56-53 win over Monticello on the road Tuesday. The Rebels were led by Braeden Hoyer with a double double, 13 points, 12 rebounds and Luke Empen’s double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Dawson Stoll also got to 13 points in the win. A season ago the Rebels won this match up 67-38.
