The Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls basketball teams welcome Wapello to Kalona for a Southeast Iowa Superconference Doubleheader Thursday.

The IMS boys are unbeaten at 3-0 on the young season following their win Tuesday over Winfield-Mt. Union 94-55. IMS was led in the win by a terrific shooting performance from Cole Ours with 30 points including eight three point goals. On the season IMS is led by Ours at 19 points per game, third in the Superconference. Mitchell Schmeider has the team lead with 15 assists, seventh in the Superconference, he also leads the team on the glass with 24 rebounds.

Wapello comes into tonight’s game also undefeated at 4-0 following Tuesday’s blowout 78-45 win over Mediapolis. Logan Belzer and Trent Massner each scored 22 in the win. On the season the Indians are led by Massner at 20 points per game, third in the Superconference. He also has the team lead and is second in the league with 24 assists. His 23 rebounds are also best on the team.

Last year IMS swept both games from the Indians.

On the girls side IMS comes in with a 1-3 overall record after falling to Winfield-Mt. Union Tuesday 54-27. Suzanna Yoder led the way with 19 points. On the season Yoder has the team lead at 17 points per game, fourth in the Superconference. Her 17 assists are ninth in the conference. Alyssa Hershberger has the team lead with 34 rebounds.

Wapello comes into tonight’s game with an overall record of 2-3 on the season. They were beaten by Mediapolis 72-49 on Tuesday. Eryka Dickey had 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Arrows. On the season Wapello is led by Tiffany Parsons at 12 points per game, eighth best in the Superconference. Parsons is best on the team and fifth in the league with 25 assists. Her 43 rebounds are also a team best.

Last year the Arrows swept IMS.
