Area Schools Iowa Mennonite and Winfield-Mt. Union matched up in Southeast Iowa Superconference play Tuesday night for a doubleheader at Hillcrest Union in Kalona with each school taking home a win.

As heard on AM and FM KCII, the Lady Wolves doubled up IMS for a 54-27 win. WMU took control of the game with a 31-1 run that lasted from the early moments of the contest into the second quarter. The Wolves led 45-11 at the half. WMU enacted the continuous clock less than a minute into the second half.

The Lady Wolves were led by Lexee Hartsock with 18 points. Jenna Buffington also got to double figures with 10. Suzanna Yoder led IMS with 19 points. WMU is now 5-2 on the year, IMS falls to 1-3.

In the boys game IMS played long ball en route to a 94-55 win. Iowa Mennonite put together a run late in the second quarter to take a 47-26 lead into the half and would expand on that out of the break, eventually putting a running clock on the Wolves with three minutes remaining in the contest. IMS had their offense rolling, knocking down 12 total three point shots on the night and putting 10 players on the scoresheet.

Cole Ours had a career high 30 points on eight three point goals to lead IMS. Mitchell Schmeider scored 14 and Reggie Borntrager finished with 13. WMU was led by 18 fromDaunte Oepping, Jared Arnold finished with 11. With the win IMS is now 3-0 on the year, WMU falls to 1-5 overall.
