Washington County’s agricultural land value is the highest in the southern third of the state.

At $8,339 per acre in 2017, Washington County’s value is higher than the state average of $7,326. The state’s average value saw an increase after falling the previous three years, according to the Iowa State University Land Value Survey. Scott County has the highest rate at $10,947, while Decatur County was the lowest at $3,480 per acre.
