After losing three of their last four contests, the Keota boys’ basketball team finished off the first half of the year strong by defeating North Mahaska 67-45.

Early on it was the Warhawks with the early advantage up 13-11 after the first quarter. The second and third quarters were the difference, as Keota led 30-21 at the break and then exploded for 24 points in the third to extend the lead to 54-29. The Eagles cruised the rest of the way for the South Iowa Cedar League win. Keota had two players in double figures led by JD Stout with 23 points and Hunter Wilson had 14.

With the win the Eagles close 2017 with a 7-3 record, as the Warhawks drop to 0-8. Keota will resume play January 5th hosting Colfax-Mingo.
