It was the HLV Holiday Duels in Victor on Thursday with Lone Tree and WACO in attendance for the dual tournament.

Lone Tree went 3-2 in duals on the day falling to Albia 64-9 and Montezuma 36-30 but beat Cardinal 42-3, HLV 39-12, and the Warriors 30-27. Aaron Slaughter led the way for the Lions with three contested match wins. He had a pin and 3-2 decision at 120 lbs and a fall at 126 lbs. Bryce Thompson had a pair of wins at 106 lbs with a fall and 2-1 decision. Other Lions coming out victorious in contested matches included Ryan Kirkpatrick at 120 lbs, Ty Griffin at 138 lbs, Will Hotz at 152 lbs, and Tim Mills at 182 lbs.

The Warriors participated in four duals and came out victorious in two of them. Along with falling to Lone Tree 30-27 the Warriors lost to Albia 57-19. WACO got their two wins against Cardinal 42-12 and HLV 33-18. Jaden Williams led the day for the Warriors with three wins in contested matches. He won by fall and a 6-5 decision at 126 lbs and had a 14-4 major decision at 132 lbs. Cody Crawford had a pair of wins on the day with a fall and 3-0 decision at 285 lbs. Other winners for WACO included Robert Frazier at 138 lbs, Bryce Crawford at 160 lbs, and Jason Sammons at 195 lbs.

The two teams are off for the holiday break and will meet again January 4th at Lone Tree.
