The Winfield-Mt. Union basketball teams hosted Louisa Muscatine on Friday night and the Falcons came out victorious in both.

A tough first quarter doomed the Lady Wolves, as they were down 12-1 and could never get over the hump, falling 44-37. Three Falcons were in double figures to capture the win led by Mariah Pugh with 13 points. Lexee Hartsock put in her normal day’s work with 15 points and Jenna Buffington added 12 points with 10 rebounds. With the loss the Wolves drop to 5-3 on the year.

The boys could not rebound from a 38-15 halftime deficit and the Falcons cruised to a 65-38 win. The one-two punch of Zack Bieri and Brady Walker was a Wolves killer, as they combined for 37 points. BJ Rodgers led the way for WMU with 10 points and Daunte Oepping had nine. With the loss the Wolves drop to 1-6 on the season.

The Wolves get back on the court tonight traveling to WACO.
