The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk and WACO Warrior wrestling teams were both on the mat Saturday at the Jeremy Fulk Classic in New London.

The Golden Hawks had the best finish of the two area teams, taking fourth of six teams competing with 144 team points. Eddyville-Blakesburg won the team title with 211 points. Mid-Prairie crowned two champions on the day with Colton Allen at 195lbs winning his title match by 7-1 decision over Jaron Allen of New London. Isaac Boucher won the title at 220lbs, recording a fall in the title bout against Nolan Stetter of Eddyville-Blakesburg. The Golden Hawks also had two runners-up with Vinnie Bowlin at 138lbs and Cory Allen at 182lbs taking second.

WACO finished fifth of six teams overall with 107 points. The Warriors crowned one champion on the day with Cody Crawford bringing home the title at 285lbs, beating Drake Fox of West Burlington Notre Dame/Danville by fall in the championship match. Other top performances for the Warriors included Ryan Maschman at 106lbs, Jalen Collins at 120lbs, Jaden Williams at 126lbs and Chase Hesseltine at 132lbs all finishing third.
