While there hasn’t been any snow to enjoy a trek on a snowmobile as of late, it is now time for registrations to be complete.

Washington County Recorder Jo Greiner is reminding residents that the renewal period for snowmobile, ATV, and ORV registration is underway statewide. Owners may renew current registrations without a penalty for $17.75 by the end of the year. A late fee of $5 will be applied beginning January 1, 2018. The off-highway vehicle registrations are valid for one year. They are issued by the recorder’s office, in partnership with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Also, if snowmobile owners plan to ride on public property, they must also purchase a 2018 trail pass. For more information contact the recorder’s office at the Washington County Courthouse.
