The Riverside City Council gave a final payment for the 2nd and Washburn Street improvements project at their recent meeting.

The council accepted a pay request of $70,359.15 to Dave Schmitt Construction, accepting the completion of the project. Councilperson Tom Sexton says he somewhat liked how the project turned out, but he had a suggestion for future street projects, “I would like maybe when we get into more of what was discussed at the work session. If we could have more of a walk through on site prior to the approval on the final plans, I think with the council with you guys explaining how things are going to be changed or added or removed.”

Sexton says he doesn’t like how the changes to the intersection at Trinity United Methodist Church turned out. He says if the council was given explanations on site of work plans the projects would go more smoothly with less surprises.
