The Sigourney girls’ basketball team concluded their impressive first half of the season Thursday when they took care of business against Colfax-Mingo 74-46.

As they have all year, the Savages wasted no time going after the Tigerhawks jumping out to an 18-12 lead after the first and 37-27 lead at the break. The breakout quarter came in the third when the Savages exploded for 30 points paced by Autum Barthelman with 12 during the run. Sigourney coasted the rest of the way to stay unbeaten in conference play with the 28-point rout. Barthelman finished with a game-high 30 points with 24 of those coming in two quarters. Payton Rhone led the Tigerhawks with 17 points.

The Savages conclude the first half of the year in first place in the South Iowa Cedar League with an 8-0-conference record and 8-1 overall. The Tigerhawks dropped to 3-7 on the year. Sigourney will resume play January 5th hosting BGM.
