Every now and then an underclassmen bursts on the scene and turns some heads across the state. Look no further than Keota’s JD Stout, as he has made his presence known in his sophomore campaign.

With the loss of their top three scorers from a year ago, the Eagles needed someone to step up and Stout has done just that. After averaging eight points a game as a freshman, Stout has seen that number rise to 21.5 points per contest to stand a top of the South Iowa Cedar League. Efficiency has been the name of the game for the 6’0’’ sophomore, as he also leads the conference in field goal percentage with 58. Scoring is not the only thing he has been effective at but he also has 24 assists and leads the team with 10 blocks. Stout’s play has helped the Eagles to a 7-3 start on the season.

You can see the Eagles back in action next Friday at Colfax-Mingo.
