Washington County is working to improve security at county-owned buildings.
Washington County’s Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with RSG Design out of Cedar Rapids for consulting work. The agreement is for $10,000. Supervisor Chairman Richard Young explains the agreement, “With this agreement he will oversee the design of putting in the cameras and the card readers for the buildings in the county, here at the courthouse, McCreedy, secondary roads, out at Orchard Hill and the sheriff’s office. And this is an agreement so he can continue and we can move forward with that project of getting the cameras installed and card readers for the security part.” The next step in the process will be to reach out to vendors for quotes for equipment and installation.
