The WACO boys’ and girls’ basketball teams took care of business on Saturday by coming out with a pair of wins over area school Keota.

In the girls game, the big story was Kiana Miller, as her school record six threes catapulted the Warriors to the 41-29 win. The senior finished with 19 points to lead all scorers. Laney Graber added six points and Kristen Conelly had five. Addison Sprouse continues to be productive for the Eagles with 18 points including a pair of threes. With the win WACO moves to 2-4 on the season, as the Eagles drop to 0-7.

In the boys game, the Warriors handed the Eagles their first loss of the year with a 72-60 victory. The Warriors had big first and fourth quarters outscoring the Eagles by 13 in those two frames. Balanced scoring was a big reason for the victory, as four Warriors were in double figures. Nik Coble and Conner Eichelberger paced WACO with 15 points apiece. Calvin Battle managed 12 points and Colton Horak had 10. JD Stout had another big game for Keota with 25 points and Luke Greiner added 15. With the win WACO moves to 2-3, as the Eagles fall to 5-1.
