The Wapello Indians and Arrows completed a Southeast Iowa Superconference sweep of the Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls basketball teams in Kalona Thursday.

In the girls game, the Arrows stopped IMS 60-20. It was a defensive battle through the first eight minutes with the Arrows up 10-5, they enjoyed a 23-14 lead at the half. In the second half, Wapello outscored IMS 37-6, including a 21-0 run to begin the third quarter and run away with the win.

Addisyn Lolling led Wapello with 15 points. Suzanna Yoder had 14 to pace IMS. With the loss, IMS is now 1-4 on the season, Wapello is 3-3.

It was a battle of the undefeateds in the boys game and Wapello stayed that way with a 63-52 win. The Indians led 18-14 after one quarter and moved to a 32-19 halftime advantage on the strength of an 8-1 run to end the half. Wapello would lead by as many as 18 in the second half before IMS made a push that cut the deficit to nine on a handful of occasions but were unable to get any closer.

Trent Massner led Wapello with 24 points. Mitchell Schmeider paced IMS with 16 points, Cole Ours added 13. With the loss IMS falls to 3-1 while Wapello improves to 5-0.
