The high school bowling season is here and the Demons will hit the road for their first match of the year to face off with area school Sigourney.

The Demon girls’ team brings all but one player back from a year ago where they went 3-6. Trista Kelly returns for her junior campaign as she led the Demons last season with a 138 game average. Dawsen Schluetter had a productive freshman campaign with a 118 game average. Other Demons that make up this year’s team include Bailey Brown, Katie Connolly, Taylor Janecek, Taylor Northup, Rylie Swart, and newcomer Isabel Canchola. The Savages do not have a girls’ team so the Demons will compete with themselves.

For the Demon boys, they lost some experience from a team that went 5-5 a year ago, including top bowler Collin Zear, averaging a 205 per game. Senior Tucker Renoux returns as the third-leading bowler a year ago averaging a 174. Drake Schluetter is the other Demon with varsity experience averaging a 135 as a freshman. Other Demons that make up the team are freshman Keaton Zear and junior Dacota Miller.

The Savages will look to build off of a 3-4 season a year ago with six seniors leading the charge this year. Tanner Halleran leads that group posting a 169 average last season. Skyler Clubb is a Savage to look out for coming off of a 163 average. Other Sigourney seniors include Austin Fox, Ben Shemanski, Parker Stevens, and Charles Witkowaski.

The season gets started at 3 p.m. today at Keokuk County Bowl in Sigourney.
