The Washington archery teams were back in action on Saturday when they hosted a tournament at the middle school.

The high school team placed second with a score of 3,309, just four points shy of the winner Eddyville-Blakesburg. Pacing the Demons once again was Sami Mellinger besting the whole field of 148 participants with a score of 291. Braeden Duwa had a productive day with a score of 289, placing first out of 69 high school boys. Other top finishes for the Demons include Cody Mellinger with a 283, Anna Miller with 282, and Cooper Reed with 277.

The Demon middle school team placed first out of four teams with a team score of 3,198. Lane Frana led the way with a score of 278, ranking third out of 98 middle school boys. Other top finishes include Ethan Heginger with 275, Curtis Stender with 273, and Allison Rees with 272.

Lastly the Lincoln Elementary team placed second with a score of 2,483. Top shooters include Sammy Jo Helfrich with a 244, Cash Pepper with 240, and Kaden Read with 231.

Washington gets back in action Saturday traveling to Albia for a tournament.
