The report cards are in for the Mid-Prairie Community School District as the Iowa Department of Education grades the school’s student academic achievement.

The Washington Township Elementary School, which now houses the homeschool education center, is rated exceptional with 81.7 points. Kalona Elementary School, which is now Mid-Prairie East Elementary, is rated commendable with 67.5 points. Wellman Elementary, which is now Mid-Prairie West Elementary, is rated acceptable. Both the high school and middle school are rated as acceptable. The Alternative Learning Center was unable to be rated.

The Iowa School Report Card assigns one of six ratings: exceptional, high-performing, commendable, acceptable, needs improvement, and priority. Launched in 2015, the report card rates schools on measures of achievement including student proficiency rates in math and reading, student academic growth, student attendance, staff retention, and graduation rates.
