The Columbus Community/Winfield-Mt. Union, Lone Tree, and Sigourney-Keota wrestling teams were on the mat Saturday in Iowa City for the Regina Invitational.

The Wildcats had the best finish of the area schools placing fourth out of 14 teams with 108 points. Solon took home the crown with 213 points. The Wildcats managed a pair of champions on the day with Jarod Kadel and Cam Rice. Kadel made it look easy at 106 lbs, winning all three of his matches by fall in just 6:05 combined. Cam Rice was able to one up his teammate by winning all three of his matches at 132 lbs by fall in a combined time of 5:42. Other top finishes for the Wildcats include Juanito Piper second at 138 lbs, Tucker Bright third at 120 lbs, and Jose Cerezo third at 145 lbs.

The Cobras finished 10th with a score of 60 points. Kaleb Reeves highlighted the day taking home the title at 220lbs. He won both of his matches by fall in 1:54. Other top finishes were Zech Boender placing fourth at 152 lbs and Trent Hendricks was fifth at 145 lbs.

Lone Tree finished 13th with 31 points. Aaron Slaughter finished third at 113 lbs and Tim Mills was fourth at 182 lbs.
