The Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls basketball teams were on the road Friday for a pair of Superconference contests, falling in both games to Wapello.

The IMS girls were beaten 72-47. Wapello led 17-14 after one quarter and took a 34-26 lead into the break. The Arrows stayed hot offensively outscoring IMS 21-11 in the third to stretch their lead to 18 going to the final frame and IMS was not able to threaten down the stretch. Suzanna Yoder led IMS with 29 points. Alyssa Hershberger chipped in 12. IMS is now 2-10 on the year.

In a battle for first place in the Superconference North Division it was Wapello who came out on top against the IMS boys 63-42. Wapello led 18-10 after one quarter and the Indians held a 28-22 advantage going to the break. In the third quarter Wapello exploded for 25 points, extending their lead to 53-35 and IMS was unable to threaten down the stretch. Cole Ours led IMS with 16 points, Mitchell Schmeider finished with 12. IMS is now 9-2 on the year.
