The WACO basketball teams welcomed Danville to town on Tuesday and the Bears came out with a pair of victories.

In the girls’ game the Bears were able to keep the Warrior offense at bay, as they seized a 49-39 win. Grace Grothe was the difference for Danville with a team-high 14 points including connecting four times from behind the arc. Kiana Miller kept the Warriors in it with 16 points. Laney Graber and Kristen Conley had eight points apiece. WACO falls to 4-8 after the loss and Danville improves to 8-3.

In the boys’ game there was much more offense, as the traditional power Bears held on for a 74-70 win. Max Wilcox and Taylor Kennsett were spectacular for Danville, combining for 57 of their 74 points. The Warriors had three players in double figures led by Drew Kissell with 19 points. Conner Eichelberger and Colton Horak had 13 points each. WACO drops to 4-7 after the loss and the Bears improve to 7-5.

WACO looks for revenge Friday when they travel to Fort Madison to take on Holy Trinity.
