The Washington boys’ basketball team is back in action today when they travel to Mount Pleasant.

The Demons (2-5) will look for their first win in 2018. They were last in action Tuesday when they fell to Fort Madison 76-49. Washington will have to be at their best with the Southeast conference leading Panthers (6-2). One area where the Demons could have the advantage is in the rebounding department. The Demons average 30 rebounds a game compared to Mount Pleasant’s 23 per contest. Cale Hobscheidt and Jack Redlinger lead the Demons in that category with six and five per game, respectively. Redlinger leads the offense with 12 points a game.

The Panthers have the ability to put up points averaging 65 a game. Brady Sartorius is their leading scorer averaging 22 points while shooting 40% from behind the arc. Jordan Magnani is another player in double figures with 16 a game.

The Southeast Conference showdown gets started at 7:45 p.m. tonight at Mount Pleasant High School. Tune into KCII to listen to the live coverage starting at 7:15 p.m. for the Washington HyVee pregame show.
