The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams are back at home for the first time in 2018 when they host the West Branch Bears in a River Valley Conference south division doubleheader.

The Golden Hawk girls enter play at 9-2, winners of three straight. The Hawks knocked off Tipton Tuesday 62-49 behind 25 points from Addie Rath. On the season the Hawks are led by Rath scoring 19 points per game, second in the RVC. She also leads the team on the glass with 90 boards. Anna Vilovchik has the team lead with 29 assists.

The Bears enter tonight’s game with an overall record of 8-5. West Branch was beaten by Wilton 77-42 on Tuesday. On the season the Bears are led by Tatum Koenig scoring 23 points per game fourth most in the state. She is second in the state with 77 assists. Kaiya Luneckas leads the Bears and is ninth in the RVC with 96 rebounds. These teams met before break with West Branch taking a 54-50 win.

In the boys contest, Mid-Prairie enters play with a 2-9 overall record. The Hawks fell at Tipton Tuesday 81-63, Cale Robertson had 14 points. Robertson leads Mid-Prairie scoring 10 points per game. Brad Tornow leads the Hawks with 32 assists, sixth in the RVC. Tom Butters has the team lead and is sixth in the conference with 69 rebounds.

West Branch enters tonight with a 6-6 overall record. In their last game they blasted Wilton 78-36, behind 23 points from Beau Cornwell. The Bears are led by Cornwell scoring 23 points per game third most in the state. He also has the team lead with 79 rebounds, fourth in the RVC. Ben Thompson leads the Bears with 26 assists. The Bears beat the Hawks before Christmas 68-59.
