The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Wilton Tuesday for a River Valley Conference doubleheader with the Beavers.

The Golden Hawk girls fell to Wilton 65-63. Mid-Prairie held a slim 20-16 lead after a big offensive first quarter and still led 30-25 at the half. Wilton made a move in the third quarter, outscoring the Hawks 22-14 to take the lead. Mid-Prairie’s fourth quarter comeback came up just short. In the loss, Mid-Prairie’s Addie Rath broke the 1,000 point mark in her career with 22 points. She becomes the fourth player in program history to reach the milestone. Shae Becker also had 15. With the loss the Hawks are now 9-7 on the year.

The Mid-Prairie boys scored a big win over the Beavers, crushing Wilton 77-37. Mid-Prairie won every quarter in the game, leading 19-6 after the first and 36-16 at half. They also closed the game on a 16-4 run. 12 Golden Hawks scored in the win, led by 16 points from Kyle Miller, Cale Robertson had 13 and Ryan Slabaugh finished with 10. The win gives the Golden Hawks back-to-back victories for the first time in more than a calendar year to move their record to 4-12. The Mid-Prairie boys and girls will both be in action Thursday when they host Mediapolis.
