Iowa’s 2017 soybean harvest tallied 561.6 million bushels, and according to the Iowa Soybean Association the state’s average yield was 56.5 bushels per acre.

The USDA Annual Crop Production Report is 4.4 billion bushels with a national average of 49.1 bushels per acre. The government projects the 2017/18 U.S. season-average farm price at $8.80 to $9.80 per bushel. International sales of U.S. Soybeans are expected at 2.16 billion bushels, down 65 million, according to the USDA World Agriculture Supply and Demand Report. In March, Iowa Soybean Association leaders will be traveling to China and Indonesia, the top and fifth export destinations of U.S. Soybeans, respectively.
